Disassemble
equipment into individual assemblies if possible.
Wipe exterior of scope and other equipment/components if extremely dusty.
Put microscope (or separate components) into plastic bag(s) and seal. Wrap tightly with tape so that the eyepieces do not fall out of the scope.
Wrap bagged and sealed microscope in layers of bubble-wrap so that no hard surfaces can be felt. Do this for each piece of equipment which is to be shipped.

Put
bubble-wrapped pieces into a box that has at least three (3) times the volume
that the pieces will occupy.
*** This is to ensure an adequate cushion space from
drops and punctures which may occur during shipping.****

Fill box approximately ¼ full of peanuts or equivalent packaging medium. Place bubble-wrapped components into box.
Fill remaining space in box with peanuts or equivalent packaging medium and stuff under pressure around the components.
Seal box tightly with acetate tape, reinforced paper tape or equivalent.
Be sure to label the box as fragile (on 5 sides) and indicate “This send up” on the top.
Insure microscope for replacement cost for each head and eyepiece pair. *Call if you are uncertain.

For any Dynascope equipment or high power specialty microscopes, the
“foam-in-place” method of

4 and 5 series Dynascopes have a lockdown screw to protect the Dynascopic disk
from damage during transportation. Before
shipping or packing the equipment per our above instructions, please insure that this screw has been properly set.
If you are unsure how this is done, contact ACC personnel

The
Vision Engineering 8” x 6” stage has a lockdown feature located at the front
left side of the stage.
d.
The
Nikon 9” x 3” stage must be handled with extreme care or irrevocable damage
can occur to the unit
